Gerald W. Womack is the president and CEO of Womack Development & Investment Realtors (WDIR), a full-service commercial and residential real estate brokerage firm established in 1985. For the past 15 years, its corporate offices have been located at 4412 Almeda Road, Houston, Texas—conveniently within “Third Ward,” near the Mid-Town/Museum District, and the Houston Medical Center—all minutes from downtown Houston.
From a young age Womack knew that real estate was his calling and quickly established himself as an industry leader in inner-loop areas. He attended the Jesse H. Jones School of Business at Texas Southern University. A native Houstonian with more than 35 years of experience in real estate, Womack has set himself apart from many of his peers with his sheer knowledge of the business and expertise in both residential and commercial transactions. In addition to sales transactions, he also redevelops and manages small apartment complexes.
Under Womack’s guidance, WDIR is an industry leader providing quality, efficient and professional real estate services to all sections of the community. The firm’s mission is to continue growth through an aggressive stance and to constantly develop its business acumen. WDIR was listed in the Top 100 of the 20,000 Top Real Estate Producers.
Gerald’s proficiency and capability to adapt with both the market and technological advances has served him tremendously well with continuing to be the best in the business. Both new and longtime clients refer their family and friends to Womack because of his knowledge, professionalism and ability to simply get the deal done.
Womack currently serves as commissioner for the Harris County Housing Authority, secretary for The Mental Health and Mental Retardation Authority, advisory board member of Unity National Bank, federal political coordinator for the National Association of Realtors, board member of Houston First, National Association of Real Estate Brokers and Board Chair, and previously served as president, of the Houston Black Real Estate Association (HBREA).
A member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Womack’s constant community work and outreach has been honored through numerous awards including the Harris County Chamber of Commerce’s Pinnacle Award, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.’s Dove Award, World Youth Foundation’s Community Partner Champion Award, National Association of Real Estate Broker’s Local Board President Award and the Harris County Council of Organizations’ Trailblazer Award.
